Winnie Lee Combs Davies

Winnie was born in a log house in Scott County, Arkansas. She spent most of her youth in the area, ending up at Hon, Arkansas. When she was 18, she moved to CA during WWII where she worked at various jobs. She then moved to Oakland, CA where she met her first husband Donald Bellefeuille and they married in 1948. They lived in Fresno, CA where Donald worked with his father roofing houses.
Later they moved to northern California so he could work in the lumber business. They had two children, Donna Fay and Linnie. Linnie was born on the Hoopa Indian Reservation. Linnie still has her baby basket that an older Indian woman made for her. They moved South to Gerber, CA and Winnie worked at Diamond National for 5 years while there. She moved to Rio Vista in 1966 and while there she divorced Donald and 6 months later met Walter R. Davies. They were married November 27, 1974 and had almost been able to celebrate 40 years of marriage. They moved to OR in August of 1988 and purchased the farm in 1992 that she passed away in and went to be with her heavenly father. Winnie was a member of Eastern Star, Rebekah, and Beta Sigma Phi International.
