Vivian Moung June 25, 1949 ~ October 5, 2005 INDEPENDENCE, OREGON ~ Vivian Moung, beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005. She was at home surrounded by family and friends. Vivian was diagnosed with cancer in March of this year and she was an inspiration of strength and comfort to everyone who spent time with her. Vivian was born Vivianna Yasmin Jakobsons on June 25, 1949 in Augsburg, Germany. Her family moved to South Dakota then to Chicago, Illinois where she graduated from Evanston High School in 1967. She moved to San Francisco, California in 1969, then to Santa Cruz, California in 1970 where she would live for twenty three years. There she met her husband, Dennis and both of her sons Dan and Tom were born there. Vivian was an instructional aide in the Special Education Department at Santa Cruz High School and completed a medical transcription program with high honors in 1993. She and Dennis and their two sons moved to Independence, Oregon. She worked at BlueCross/BlueShield of Oregon as an analyst for the past eleven years. She loved the peace and serenity of life in the Willamette Valley. Vivian's spirit, generosity, her wit and her humor were enjoyed by everyone who knew her. She was talented seamstress and guilt maker. She loved being outdoors and walking her dogs Buddy and Winnie. Vivian is survived by her loving husband Dennis Moung, Sons Dan of Monmouth, Oregon and Tom of St. Helens, Oregon. Nieces Stephanie Moung and Christine Manuel of Santa Curz, California and San Jose, California respectively and loving nephew Shawn Peterson of San Francisco, California. We Love you, Vivianna. In Lieu of Flowers, donations are requested to Special Olympics of Oregon. A private service was held by family and friends on Saturday October 8th. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
