Adelaide Virginia Thomas, known by many as Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at her home.
She was born on November 17, 1925, to Violette Buechner in Los Angeles, California. As a young girl, they moved to Centralia, then to Carlsburg, where she graduated from Dungeness High School. She moved then moved to Fort Campbell, and in the early 1970's she moved to Salem, and settled in Buena Vista for the last 12 years.
Everyone who came to her house called her grandma, and she enjoyed gardening, her animals, being a homemaker, watching old movies, listening to music, and dancing.
She is survived by her children Michael Lowe of Euguene, Phillip Cameron of Hoquiam, WA, John Lawrence of Indianola, WA, Sandra Mabe and Denise Williams of Suquamish, WA. She is also survived by her constant companions, Frank Studer, Elmer Studer, and Neil Phillips, all of Buena Vista. She was preceded by her companion John Lizama.
A celebration of life will be held at Buena Vista Church on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1 pm. A private cremation was held at Farnstrom Cremation Center, with Farnstrom Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.
