OBITUARY Verle Price Little Papa July 15, 1919 - August 23, 2008 Verle Price Little of Monmouth, Oregon. He was born in the family home in Gridley, California to Ray Alanzo Little and Mary Mamie Price Little, the third of six children. He married Martha Sadie Swallow October 20, 1937. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy as a Machinist Mate 1st class. He worked as a machinist and Maintenance mechanic for Libby, McNeil & Libby, in Gridley, for 35 years. He and Martha moved to Oregon in 1982. He enjoyed living in Oregon near his grandchildren. He and Martha attended most of their sports and school events. He always raised a large garden and loved to share it with his family and friends. He loved to cook and delighted in cooking for his family. He and Martha traveled a great deal, all over the United States, which included Hawaii, Alaska and Canada, and enjoyed fishing on their many trips. They loved spending the winters in Quartzsite, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, sons Ray James Little of Corvallis, Oregon, Roger Verle Little of Independence, Oregon and daughter Linda Elaine Shinkle of Monmouth, Oregon. He is also survived by brother Jesse Little of Gridley, California. He was preceded in death by brothers Wallace and Irvin Little, and sisters Edith Tompkins and Elaine Mich. He leaves twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Each of his twelve grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren were convinced that they were his favorite. Graveside Service will be 11:00am Thursday August 28th at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth, Oregon. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
