V. Marguerite Taylor

V. Marguerite Foster Hathaway Taylor Born on September 13, 1926 in Cambridge, Nebraska, and passed away January 4, 2006, in Salem, Oregon. Marguerite moved to Oregon at the age of 8. She graduated from Henry Hill High school in Independence, Oregon. Shortly after graduating she was married to Richard William Hathaway. They lived in Independence, Albany and Salem before returning to Independence. Marguerite was the Secretary at Foster Plumbing. In 1968 she moved with her family to Bend where she worked in the Library of the Pilot Butte Grade School. In 1978 the family returned to the Willamette Valley and resided in Salem where Marguerite worked for the Salem School District libraries until she moved back to Independence where she volunteered at Talmadge Middle School in the reading program. In her spare time Marguerite enjoyed Bowling. She was the secretary of the Salem Women's Bowling Association for over 10 years. When she retired from her position she was gifted a plant that is still alive today! After the death of her first husband she was re-married to Dick Taylor and moved back to Independence. During this period of her life, Mrs. Taylor enjoyed playing golf and traveling. She and Mr. Taylor spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed playing golf and cards. After the death of her second husband she lived in Prineville for two years. After leaving Prineville she traveled with a friend of the family throughout the Southwest for two years before finally returning home to Independence last April. Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her mother, Dena Foster; her father, Roy Foster; her first husband Richard Hathaway; and her second husband, Richard Taylor. She is survived by: Her brother Perry Foster of Woodburn, OR. Her children Sharon Morrison of Camano Island, WA; Cheryl Zimmerman of Prineville, OR; and William Hathaway of Las Vegas, NV, in addition to four Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Farnstrom Mortuary Private Burial to follow service at Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem. Reception 4:00 p.m. at the Monmouth Senior Center, 180 S.
