Terry Ray Runyon passed away Tuesday April 3rd, 2012.
He was born in Phoenix Arizona on May 12th, 1959. He worked at Motorola for many years before moving to Washington then to Oregon where he and his family settled a few months ago. He enjoyed painting and was a professional self-employed painter.
He attended Heart to Heart Christian Academy as a child and was involved in Boy Scouts, becoming an Eagle Scout. He was raised in the church and had very strong faith. Terry truly loved the Lord. In his earlier years he was a middleweight boxer and was very committed to bodybuilding.
His hobbies were collecting and refurnishing wood boxes and other wood projects as well as collecting marble. He loved animals, especially his dogs Choppers and Grunt.
He was full of life and laughter even in the midst of hard times. His laugh would make others around him laugh it was so infectious. He loved sharing stories about family, friends and experiences. He was very outgoing and loved to meet new people. He was a very loving person. Making, keeping and mending relationships was a priority to him. He loved his family and friends very much and was especially proud of his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymon Runyon; his mother Joan Vibbard; his sister Kathy Cherry; and nephews, Alvin Troub and Michael Runyon.
He is survived by his wife Dawn Star Runyon; sons Marcus Rees and Gavin Matthews; daughters Neveah Star Runyon and Abigail Matthews; sisters Laurie Runyon and Mary Runyon; brother Michael Runyon; nieces Linda Boswell, Autumn Coe, Desiree Stinnett, Angel Troub, Summer Runyon & Serene Runyon; nephews Johnny Coe and Prescott Coe; stepfather Archie Vibbard.
There will be a celebration of life on April 21st at 6pm at First Baptist Church in Independence, OR.
