Obituary, Susan Yvonne Baker Bernard September 18, 1946 ~ April 18, 2007 Susan Yvonne Baker Bernard of Dallas, Oregon passed away April 18, 2007 at the age of 60 in Salem, Oregon. Susan was born on September 18, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. She is survived by her father, Alfred Baker, and her four siblings; Al Baker, Mary Howland, Janice Asbahr, and Cheryl Brummel. She graduated from Sandy Union High School in 1964. She battled cancer Hodgkin's disease for two years and also married Edward Bernard following high school. They moved to California and she managed to graduate from California State College at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in 1970. She worked secretarial jobs in California for several years. After her marriage ended in divorce she moved back to Oregon. In 1977 she got a teaching degree from Oregon College of Education and began substitute teaching. She worked a number of odd jobs as her health permitted in the years since. She loved flowers and gardening and also books and movies. She also loved music and the last few years she enjoyed being part of the choir at St. Vincent de Paul church in Salem. The Oregon Coast was a favorite place for her to go. Her candy dish was always on her coffee table, full of sweets and ready for any guest. Now may she feast at the table set for her in heaven Psalm 23.
