SPC. Taylor Daniel Marks November 9, 1989 ~ August 28, 2009 SPC. Taylor Daniel Marks of Monmouth, Oregon passed away August 28, 2009 in Rashid, Iraq serving his country with the Oregon National Guards, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Taylor was born November 9, 1989 in Salem, Oregon. Moved to Monmouth and graduated from Central High School in 2008. After high school Taylor enlisted in the Oregon National Guard as a linguist specialist. Taylor was deployed to Iraq on June 19, 2009. Taylor enjoyed geocaching, music, spending time with the OPFOR group and his many friends. He loved to learn and approached life as an adventure. Survivors include his father Morey Marks of Salem, Oregon, Mother and Step-Father Michelle and Don Mack of Monmouth, Oregon, Sister Courtney Marks of Monmouth, Oregon, Step-Sister Mary Alexander Mack of Keizer, Oregon, Grandparents John & Carol Marks of Riverton, Wyoming, Grandparents Dan & Marion Painter of Salem, Oregon, Step-Grandparents John & Connie Mack of Salem, Oregon, Step-Grandmother Pat Cornforth of McMinnville, Oregon and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Taylor had a compassion for the less fortunate and family suggest contributions to be made to the Union Gospel Mission in care of Farnstrom Mortuary 410 Monmouth St. Independence, Oregon 97351. Celebration of Life will be 11:00am Friday September 4th at the Green Villa Barn 3215 Independence Hwy. Independence, Oregon 97351. Closed Casket farewell will also be from 8:00am to 2:00pm Friday at Farnstrom Mortuary. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon
