PICTURE Obituary, Shirley M. Bauersfeld September 17, 1921 ~ November 13, 2007 Shirley M. Bauersfeld of Monmouth, Oregon passed away November 13, 2007 at the age of 86. Born in Independence, Oregon September 17, 1921 to Roy and Mabel Hookum Kullander. As a young girl she moved to Milwaukie, Oregon and graduated from Milwaukie High School. She attended University of Oregon. She met her husband Kent Bauersfeld when she was working at an ice cream parlor in Oregon City where Shirley worked the counter for her aunt and uncle. The two were married on July 24, 1944 in Oregon City just before Kent left to serve his country in the European theatre of World War II. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper at the business her and Kent owned "Kent's Jewelers" She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and loved family gatherings. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Woman's Club. Shirley is survived by a Son Kevin Bauersfeld and daughter in law Marcy Bauersfeld of Lacey, Washington; a daughter, Karen Hoffman of Monmouth, Oregon; a daughter Ann McElravy and son in law Steve McElravy of Monmouth, Oregon; a son, Richard Bauersfeld and daughter in law Jennifer Bauersfeld of McLean, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Friday November 16th at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
