Santiago "Jimmy" Duran
January 31, 1963 - October 9, 2013
Independence - Santiago Jimmy Duran passed away on October 9, 2013 at the age of 50. He was born January 31, 1963 in Silverton, Oregon to Anastacio and Frances Duran.
After graduating from Central High School in Independence in 1981, Jimmy served 7 years in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, camping, family barbeques, dancing, sports and crabbing.
Jimmy had charisma, was friendly and loved everybody. He was a great friend and loving father, son and brother. He delighted in his children and granddaughter. He loved watching his daughters, nieces and nephews play softball, and taking them fishing. He made a difference by a natural ability to make even people he didn't know smile with kind words, jokes and compliments. His dream was to see his daughters flourish and his family united.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Santiago and Cresencia Amaya. He is survived by his parents, Anastacio and Frances Duran of Independence; daughter Brianna (Jacob) Rogers of Troutdale; daughter and granddaughter Carly and Chloe of Monmouth; daughter Nicole Duran of Silverton; siblings Alicia (Rolando) Ramirez of Monmouth; Anastacio Duran Jr. of Independence; Bianca (Aaron) Wendt of Independence; 10 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews.
