Rosa "Chita" ReynaSept. 6, 1948 - Feb. 25, 2018
Daughter of Maria Angelita Garcia Reyna and Juan Cazares Reyna, sister to Alicia, Alfredo Leoncio Clemente, and Armando, aunt and great aunt to many, Rosa “Chita” Reyna was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Doctor Arroyo, Mexico and moved to Texas eventually making it to Oregon. In Oregon, Chita lived with her family in the camps with all of the other migrant families. Chita spent her days playing and running about. She learned from a very young age to do housework and cook with her mother Maria Reyna. Rosa babysat changed and washed diapers for the children she watched when their parents were out working in the fields. Rosa never left her mother’s side except to go play and interact with the other kids. Rosa would welcome the newcomers to the camp at Long Ranch. The memories of everyone who first met Rosa was her infectious and welcoming smile.
Viewing will be Monday, March 4, 6-8 pm at Farnstrom Mortuary, with a funeral service Tuesday, March 5, 11 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Independence and burial at Fir Crest Cemetery.
