Ronald Adolph Salvo
June 15, 1931 - July 6, 2015
INDEPENDENCE - Ronald Adolph Salvo, of Independence, 84, passed away after a three month battle with non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was born in Portland to Adolph and Jennie Salvo. He graduated from Washington High School and received his BA and Masters degrees from the University of Portland. He was SSGT in the Air Force 759 AC&W Squadron, stationed in Galena, AK, during the Korean War. He was Vice Principal of Floyd Light Middle School and was with the David Douglas School Dist. 37 years. He loved flying his Piper Archer II, rebuilding his WWII BT13, which is now in the Evergreen Aviation Museum, and his kitties Tina, & Louise. Ron is survived by his wife, Sue, sister Mary Lou Salvo Portland, daughters: Sheri Kinnear (Michael) Boring , Lisa Salvo, New York Kristine Glock (Brian) Vancouver, WA, and son, Donald Salvo (Karen) Beaverton. He had 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, July 10, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1275 E. Street, Independence. A Rosary will be at 10:30 and Mass at 11 am. Reception following.
