Ronald Ray Harter, 72 died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home in Independence, Oregon. Ron was Born October 13, 1942, to Neal Gerald Harter and Pearl Elizabeth Baney in Dallas, Oregon.
He attended Riverside School and South Salem High School. Ron married Donna Irene Crowson on November 5, 1976 in Oregon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing. His greatest passion was spending time with his family and building custom rifles. Ron was a very hard working man, owning Independence Machine for many years until he sold the business to Setniker Farms where he worked up to his last day.
Ron is survived by his six children - Debbie McGonigal, Kathy Enecott, December Harter, Eric Harter, Heidi Gregory, and Chad Harter. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife (Donna), and Son (Keith).
A private Celebration of Life was held by the family. Farnstrom Funeral Home, Independence Oregon, (503) 838-1414, is handling the arrangements.
