Monmouth - Rolland Stewart Swan passed away at Heron Pointe on March 16, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born in Los Angeles, California on April 5, 1925 to Alexander and Norma Swan.
Rolland worked as a lineman for the phone company. In 1952 he married Mary Fern Knights in Corvallis, Oregon, and together they celebrated their 60th Anniversary last August. He loved working with his hands in his shop, and created numerous wood or metal-working projects, including building an organ from a kit. He and Fern enjoyed flowers and gardening, fishing together at their summer cabin, and their three Bassett hounds.
Rod is survived by his wife Mary Fern (Knights) Swan; his younger brother Robert Swan of Wilsonville; and many nieces and nephews.
Rolland's life will be celebrated privately.
