Obituary, Rodney "Rudy" Rudelitsch June 20 1948-November 28, 2006 Rodney "Rudy" Rudelitsch of Independence, Oregon died November 28, 2006 at his home in Independence at the age of 58. Rudy was born in Carbon County PA to Herman and Evelyn Rudelitsch. He grew up in the Mohning Valley and graduated from Lehighton High School in 1966 where he was also a captain of the football team. He proudly served in the 500th MI Group, US Army Pacific during the Vietnam War and later in the Oregon Army National Guard. Rudy was a bricklayer for over 30 years and a proud member of bricklayer's local #1 Portland, OR, since 1979. He spent the majority of his time since 1984 working for Davidson's Masonary Inc., Salem, OR. He took a few years off to finish a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education at Western Oregon State College. Rudy coached football for 9 years including Monmouth Independence Kids Incorporated, Talmadge Middle School and three years as head coach at Alsea H.S. He enjoyed communing with nature and touching the earth, and performing the simple tasks of life with family and friends. Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Karen, daughter Holly of Oakland, CA, son Jesse of Bend, OR and a younger sister Colleen Rudelitsch of New Ringgold, PA. He was preceded in death by his Father, Herman, Dec 25, 1994, and his Mother, Evelyn, Sept 25, 1995.
