Obituary, Robert Bob Lee Porter May 27, 1935 ~ September 5, 2006 Robert Bob Lee Porter of Monmouth, Oregon died September 5, 2006 at his home in Monmouth. Bob was born in Kensington, Kansas May 27, 1935 to Howard and Elsie Porter. He moved to Oregon in 1950 and graduated from Central High School in 1954. After graduation he worked for the railroad. He married Peggy I. Simons on August 19, 1955. He then worked for Holt Equipment until 1958. From 1958 to 1968 he worked for Oremet in Albany. In 1968, he was asked to help build Ti Line, Inc. and worked there as Foreman and Supervisor until 1990 when he retired. He took great pride in his work as a metallurgist. He started "Bob's Small Engine Repair" and enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and garden equipment for landscaping businesses. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and often went fishing with his friends, son and grandsons. He was preceded in death by both his parents. He leaves behind one brother Howard Dean Porter of Sheridan, Oregon a loving wife Peggy of Monmouth; 3 Children, Cheryl Peebles of Salem, Rob Porter of Woodburn, Connie Long of Salem, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
