Obituary, Robert Dean Green July 30, 1922 ~ March 27, 2006 Robert D. Green of Dallas, Oregon, generally known, with a big smile, as "Big Bad Bob" he was of Jamestown, Kansas decent. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline; daughter Kathleen Johnson of Mukiteo, Washington and her husband, Robert, and grand-daughter Victoria; and daughter Pamela Burkhalter of Monmouth, Oregon and her husband, Art, and grand-daughter Ramona Copenhaver; as well as Barbara Beyer, a niece that Bob and Pauline raised. Bob's youthful talent won him a basketball scholarship to Wichita State collage. This tall handsome man joined the Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific during WWII. Bob married Pauline Yost, January 23rd, 1944, and she was his love for life. Greens lived in Dallas, Oregon, for the last 3 years. Previously they called Redding, California, home for 20 years of retirement. Their working years began in 1944, at China Lake, at the Naval Weapons Center. There the Greens lived both on the base and in the town of Ridgecrest, California. Bob was serving as procurement manager at his retirement in 1977. Bob and Pauline traveled and square danced around the country for fifty years. Bob never met a stranger, and had a world of family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2nd, 2006, at Farnstrom Mortuary, 410 Monmouth St., in Independence, Oregon.
