Robert Daniel Connelly

Born January 16, 1921 in Clifford, Illinois the son of Ernest and Cora Tinkler Connelly. He was raised in Illinois and attended school. He was drafted when the was was declared in 1941. He was stationed in California for a year there he met his wife Clarabelle. He was sent to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Bob and Clarabelle were married in the Catholic Chapel at the Fort Sill Base. Two months later he was shiped over seas to Germany. Bob was in the Battle of the Buldge. He was helfping with the destruction of Remagan Bridge. He returned home a year later to California. The couple became parents of a baby girl Patricia Ann born in 1946 at the time Bob was working as a fumigator for citrus tree. In 1947 the family moved to Myrtle Point, Oregon. He was a sawyer and mill wright later he owned his own saw mill. He built 2 homes as the family soon started to grow. Barbara Jean arrived in 1949, Robert David arrived in 1953, Ernest arrived in 1955. The family then moved to Indepedence, Oregon in 1958. Jane Marie arrived in 1959. He worked in a Georgia Pacific Burelbach Industries in Rickreall, Oregon. He was plant supervisor for 28 years until he retired in 1985. Burelbach built plywood machinery and was shipped all over the United States. He and his wife traveled to visit family in Florida and Illinois. In 1992 Bob built a deck on their mobile home in Hazel Glen Court. He was on a ten foot ladder that slipped on the oiled floor and caused serious complications. He was home for seven years with his wife taking care of him. In 1999 he was moved to a nursing home. He was a wonderful loving Dad and wonderful husband. Bob was a member of the Amvets-Post 1776. He enjoyed makeing figure ornaments out of horseshoes and his rock hobby. He built a portable sawmill. He also built a wheel chair lift for his sister-in-laws car. Survivors include his wife Clarabelle of Monmouth, Oregon; Daughter and her husband Patricia Ann and William Thompson of Mitchelle, Oregon; Daughter and her husband Barabara and Steve Roberts of Astoria, Oregon; Son and his wife Robert and Lauri Connelly of Wilton Manor, Florida; Son and his wife Ernest and Debi Connelly of Eugene, Oregon; Daughter Jane Connelly of Monmouth, Oregon; Grand Daughter and her husband Julie and Chris Thorne of Orlando, Florida; Grand Daughter Shaylyn Connelly of Monmouth; Great Grand Son Gaven of, Orlando FloridaSister Reba Hayes of Fairfield, Illinois; and Sister-In-Law Mary Ann Spock of Monmouth Oregon.
