Richard Arthur Davenport of Dallas, Oregon died July 27, 2004 he was 70 years old. Richard was born in Cranston, Rhode Island to Rowland and Lillian Johnson Davenport. In 1951 he graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon and attended and played football at the University of Oregon. He has worked for J.C Penney, Westinghouse, LaSalle-Deitch and then opening his own floor covering business until he retired in 1996. Richard lived in Rhode Island and Montana before moving to McMinnville, Oregon. He also lived in Ashland and Portland for many years. He spent the last 32 years in Independence and Dallas, Oregon. He was in the Navy from 1952-1956 Honorable Discharged Richard was a member of the Dallas Alliance Church. He enjoyed football, golf, square dancing, coaching helping kids and RV'ing, He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday August 5th at the Dallas Alliance Church.
