Rene Garcia

Rene Garcia January 21, 1946 - November 06, 2005 MONMOUTH - Rene Garcia passed away on November 6, 2005, from health complications. He was born in Elsa, Texas on January 21, 1945 to Rogelio and Maria Garcia. His parents and siblings moved to Independence, Oregon in the early 1960s. He attended Central High School and worked for the State Highway Department until he started his own business striping parking lots. He married Katy Dorough in 1972 and had three sons, Daniel of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Adam and Miguel of Monmouth. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio and Maria, and a sister, Maria Elisa. Besides his wife, sons, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer, he is survived by brothers, Eustolio of Brownsville, Texas, Heriberto of Independence; sisters, Carmen Pachuca, Consuelo Garcia, and Oralia Trevino of Independence and Herminia Cavazos of Fresno, Calif. Rene was a hard-working man, a good husband, a wonderful father, and a kindred spirit. He will be missed by his family and friends. Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Wed., Nov. 9, 2005 at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 10, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Independence.
