Rafael S. Alvarez of Independence, Oregon passed away January 14, 2012 at the age of 63.
Born in Edinburg, Texas, lived in Washington than moved to Independence in 1962. He graduated from Central High School and worked for Boise Cascade of 38 years, retiring in 2008. He spent his time in his garage fixing things and organizing his tools. He loved fishing, radios, movies and collecting coins. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He loved his whole family very much and will be greatly missed. "He will always live in our hearts"
He is survived by his wife Eda Alvarez, two son's David and Nicholas Alvarez, daughter Margarita Alvarez, sister Dora Alvarez and two grandkids Christina and Tristen. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Recitation of the Rosary will be 1pm Friday, January 20, 2012 with Memorial Mass at 2pm both at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; inurnment will follow at Hilltop Cemetery in Independence.
