Independence - Phillip E. Bursell, age 72, died April 20, 2013. He was born in McMinnville, OR, and graduated from Central High School in 1958. He spent the next 41 years of his life working as a commercial carpenter. Once retired, he developed a passion for travel with his wife of 46 years, Iris. He also spent much of his time at J's restaurant shooting the bull over coffee and at the Elks BPOE 1950 where he was a lifetime member. Any extra time not spent traveling or socializing was spent fishing, tinkering in his garage, or helping his grandsons with carpentry projects for school.
He is survived by his wife Iris, three daughters, Holly Lynn, Heide Balsiger, and Heather Garrison, and three grandsons, Brett, Dylan, and Ken.
