Pennelope "Penny" Cano (Miller), of Albany, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Penny was born January 6th, 1950 in Boise, ID to Donald and Jabudah Miller, and was raised in Hermiston, OR. She graduated from Hermiston High School in 1968. Penny was married for 30 wonderful years to Cecil Pollard, who preceded her in death. Her marriage to Cecil created her loving blended family, whom she loved very much.

Throughout her life, Penny was never afraid to take risks, and follow opportunities. An entrepreneur at heart, Penny owned and operated a bakery, a Dairy Queen Franchise, and helped her husband run a large insurance agency. Upon returning to Oregon, Penny was the assistant superintendent secretary for the Independence School District.

Penny is survived by her loving husband, Carlos Cano, who has been a wonderful and caring companion for her during her illness. In addition, Penny is survived by her 5 children, Michael Martin, of Murfreesboro TN, Robert Pollard (wife Amy) of Evansville, IN, Raymond Pollard, Denver, CO, Tina Bratton (Husband Byron) of Cataldo, ID and Chuck Pollard (wife Sarah) of Noblesville, IN. Upon marrying Carlos, she was proud to welcome into her heart his children Jason Cano of Hermiston, Nicole Estabrook (husband Matt) of Hermiston and Son Brian who precedes. Also surviving are: Mother Jabudah Grossmiller and Step Father Al, of Hermiston, Sisters Linda Miller and Sheila Cross of Hermiston, and brothers Ray of Portland and Ben of Mt. Shasta, CA. In addition, Penny leaves 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Finally, Penny leaves behind many cherished and special friends, Joseph Hunter, Evelyn Bravo, and Julie Sassor.

Penny is preceded in death by Father Donald Miller, Husband Cecil Pollard, and Step Son Brian Cano.

Penny left this earth knowing that she was loved dearly by her family and friends, and wanted them to remember that as much as they loved her, she loved them more.

Celebration of Life will be 10am, Saturday Feb. 18th at Monmouth Christian Church.
