Obituary, Pauline E. Green January 19, 1924 ~ September 23, 2006 Pauline E. Green, 82, of Monmouth, Oregon died September 23rd. Pauline is survived by her daughter Kathleen Johnson of Mukilteo, Washington, son-in-law Robert and grand-daughter Victoria; and her daughter Pamela Burkhalter of Monmouth, Oregon, son-in-law Art and grand-daughter Ramona Copenhaver. She is also survived by her sisters Midge Harris and Barbara Beyer. Pauline was born in San Joaquin, California. She grew up in Tipton and attended grade school there and high school in Tulare, California. Pauline was a Nanny in San Jose before graduating in 1943 from the school of cosmetology in Oakland, California. Pauline met Bob Green at an U.S.O. dance in San Francisco and married him in 1944. They started a romance that lasted 62 years on earth and in 2006 they moved their romance to heaven. The Greens lived in Dallas, Oregon, for the last 3 years. Previously they called Redding, California, home for 20 years of retirement. Their working years began in 1945, at the Naval Ordnance Test Station China Lake, California. There the Greens lived both on the base and in the town of Ridgecrest. Pauline sold Avon to the entire community for 15 years, becoming Avon's top salesperson for her region. Bob and Pauline traveled and square danced around the country for fifty years. Pauline never met a stranger, and had a world of family and friends. A memorial service will be held 10am, October 28, 2006, at Farnstrom Mortuary, 410 Monmouth St., in Independence, Oregon. Contribution may be made to your local HOSPICE association.
