Paul Douglas Dodele of Independence, Oregon passed away December 24, 2011 at the Salem Hospital he was 92 years of age.
Paul was born in Wellsdale, Oregon in North Benton County on November 15, 1919 to Paul B. and Gaye L. Dodele. Went to Wellsdale grade school and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1938. Joined the Navy in September of 1939 and did a six year enlistment was was honorable discharged on October 1945 as a First Class Quartermaster. Returned home to his parents farm south of Independence and farmed with his father. In 1956 Doug married Mabel M. Thomas and they bought a farm south of Independence. Doug went to work for Georgia Pacific Corp. in 1959 and retired at 65 and then just ran his farm. He is survived by his son Paul T. Dodele of Independence, grandson Cody of Independence and brother Gerry of Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his wife Mabel in 2009 and sister Elaine and a brother Richard. Doug requested no services to be held. His urn will be placed at Palestine Cemetery in the Dodele family plot in North Benton County.
