Obituary, Patrick James Stillson June 9, 1949 ~ June 1, 2007 Patrick James Stillson of Monmouth, Oregon passed away peacefully in his home on June 1st. Pat was born in Albany, California on June 9th, 1949. He was an enthusiastic member of the Monmouth-Independence community since moving here in 1976 and settling to raise his family. Pat left his mark on many local homes and businesses with his skillful, creative work as a contractor. One of his favorite jobs was designing and building the gazebo in Monmouth's Main Street Park. In that park he shared his love of art with children encouraging them to cover the sidewalks with chalk art each 4th of July. His love of music was infectious and he loved joining with friends to play his guitar and hand-made drums. Pat constructed Ashiko drums and sold them at the River Gallery. He was a founding member of the gallery, being a member of that artistic community brought him much joy. He loved astronomy and gazing at the stars. He built his own telescopes and would jump at any opportunity to join other star-gazers and share his wonder at all that he could see. Patrick's gentle spirit and warm smile will be missed by all of us who knew him. He is survived by his loving family. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life on Sunday, June 10th at 2pm at Dancing Oaks Nursery, 17900 Priem Rd., Monmouth. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence
