Oscar Webre, 71, a longtime Alaska resident, died on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, in Corvallis, Ore., surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Dec. 14, 1943, in New Orleans, La., the son of Oscar and Marguerite (Karstendick) Webre. His military service with the United States Air Force brought him to Alaska in 1963, where he met Wanda Setters, his devoted wife of 51 years. Oscar and Wanda left Alaska for a short time, but returned in 1976 to raise their three children. Oscar was a loving family man and loved by everyone who met him. Oscar retired from the construction industry in 2005 to Independence, Ore. Oscar is survived by his wife, Wanda; three children, Reed Webre of Wasilla, Alaska, Jerry Webre of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dawn Webre of Independence, Ore.; two grandchildren, Austin Webre and Taylor Webre; and sister, Barbara Daix of Covington, La.
