Nina was born on July 28th, 1961 in Voronezh, Russia. Nina later spent her young adult years growing up in Mariupol, Ukraine where her family moved to in 1979. Eventually this was where Nina met Liya Makarenko, the bride of her brother Vladimir.
In 1989, the newly wedded couple and their three small children immigrated to the United States, temporarily saying goodbye to their little sister Nina. Not long after, in the early 90s Nina made her debut, crossing the Atlantic Ocean with her father to start their new American lives, settling in with her brother Vladimir and his family.
Here Nina would say she completed "two colleges," would grow up taller than all of us, and of course, be the most beautiful girl in the world! She also enjoyed camping, filling out her photo albums, being around her friends, and simply loving life.
Nina was a kindhearted, fun-loving, funny girl who brightened the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She was full of hope and joy and always made us laugh. Her favorite day in the entire world was July 28th because it was her birthday and she made sure to remind you that it was, "coming up soon." Even the day after!
Farnstrom Mortuary is caring for the family.
