Nancy Diane Brouse, 64, was called home by Jesus on January 16, 2018. Nancy’s passing was due to complications of flu and pneumonia. Nancy was the wife of Gordon D. Brouse, Jr. of Salem, Oregon. They would have celebrated 25 years of marriage this year.

Nancy was born in Salem, Oregon in 1953. When she was a child the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she attended Phoenix Christian School. She graduated from Phoenix Christian High School, class of 1971

Nancy had a million dollar smile and when she smiled, she lit up the room. Nancy had a gift for stylish dress and made a point to have a trendy and smart looking hairstyle. She enjoyed day to day life, going to the Oregon coast, travel, walking her dog, exercising, and going out to dinner with family and friends.

Nancy had worked in the insurance industry approximately 30 years. Her most current employment was with Kemper Companies where she worked as a Claims Auditor. She was a dependable employee and a hard worker.

Nancy was a disciplined person and her entire life has been immersed in the teachings of the Christian church. She was a lifelong student of God’s Word and spent time reading and studying the Bible every single day. She gathered strength and authority from God’s word. She will be remembered for her resolute character and vivacious spirit. Gordon and Nancy were currently attending Salem Evangelical Church but had also attended West Hills Community Church for many years.

Nancy devoted her life to raising her family. She took enormous pride in her children and grandchildren. She was always looking for clothing for them and always made sure they had good birthday and Christmas celebrations. She also looked forward to football season often attending OSU games. Some of the family’s fondest memories surround a day’s outing to OSU games with the grandchildren.

Both Gordon and Nancy were doting grandparents and would drive hours to see Connor and Cameron play in a sporting event. Nancy was absolutely delighted when her beautiful granddaughter Emma was born. She loved buying her dresses, headbands and all the things that little girls need.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Gordon Brouse, Daughter Lindsay Smith and her children Connor Nix, Cameron Nix and Emma Smith. Son Brett Brouse and fiancé Penena, Mother, Evelyn Brunkal. Brother, David Brunkal and his wife, Nancy. She was predeceased by her Father, William R. Brunkal.

We invite you to Celebrate Her Life with us at Salem Evangelical Church at 455 Locust St. NE. Salem, Oregon on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1 PM.
