Myra Nadene Lundeen August 10, 1916 ~ April 28, 2008 Myra Nadene Lundeen died Monday April 28th, surrounded by her family. Nadene Lundeen was born August 10, 1916 in Blue Mound, Kansas. She grew up in Kansas and was 14 when her family moved to Oregon and settled in a small community outside of Monmouth called Parker, and later they moved to Buena Vista. She graduated from Independence high school in Independence, Oregon in 19xx. Nadene worked at the J.C. Penney's store in Independence Oregon from 1944 -1947, and she met Donald Lundeen in the store looking for rubber boots and coveralls. Nadene and Don were married October 12, 1947 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Nadene and Donald raised a family and operated a farm outside of Monmouth their entire lives. Nadene loved to garden and maintained extensive flower beds around her home. She also enjoyed baking and made wonderful pies and cinnamon rolls. She was a member of Christ's Church of Monmouth and The Parker Women's Club. She received great joy from family gatherings and community events, especially visits from her 4 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lundeen; daughter, Cheryl Prunty; son, Dennis Lundeen; Grandchildren: Kyle Prunty, Christine Lundeen, Jason Prunty, Emily Lundeen; Brother: Luther K. Osborn; Sisters Jean Anderson and June Hanks. Public viewing will be at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence, 1-5 pm. A Memorial service will be held Friday, May 2nd, at Christ's Church 2 pm, 412 W. Clay Street in Monmouth Oregon. A private internment will be held at Belcrest Cemetery in Salem.
