Obituary, Melvin "Mel" A. Hibbler Jr. May 27, 1929 ~ February 1, 2007 Melvin "Mel" A. Hibbler Jr. of Independence, Oregon passed away February 1, 2007 at the age of 77 years old. Mel was born May 27, 1929 in Highland Park, Michigan to Melvin A. Sr. and Annie Lopez Hibbler. Mel served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1948 - 1952. Saw action in Korea Chosin Reservoir Battle. On June 27, 1953 he married Dolores Schramm in Ferndale, Michigan. Mel worked in Automobile Sales. Mel was a member of the Independence First Baptist Church. Belonged to the Chosin Few and a life member of the DAV. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Dolores Hibbler, children: Michael Hibbler, Paul Hibbler, Beth Johnson, Susie McCracken and Scott Hibbler. Mother Annie Hibbler and Sister Charlene Gardiner. 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Melvin A Hibbler Sr. preceded him in death. Private Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Friday 9th, 2007 at the Independence First Baptist Church. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
