Obituary, Maxine O. Mersch November 29, 1923 ~ June 7, 2006 Maxine O. Mersch of Independence passed away peacefully at her Independence Home June 7, 2006 at the age of 82. Maxine was born November 29, 1923 in Kansas to Mary and Everett Case. Her parents owned a farm in Kansas until 1928 when the moved the family of to Independence, Oregon. Her parents worked for local farms and her father also worked for several area Mills. Maxine had ten brothers and sisters including a twin brother, Maxson. She attended Independence schools until marrying Roy T. Mersch in July of 1940. Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, Roy preceded Maxine in death in 1986. Maxine was devoted her life to her ten children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son Ronald E. Mersch 1981. Maxine was a great admire of Indian culture and art, she also enjoyed western films and novels. Gardening was her life long passion for her and her husband where they enjoyed many hours together. She will be remembered by those who were touched by her. Her Kindness and Generosity. Graveside Service will be 4:00pm Monday June 12th at Hilltop Cemetery in Independence.
