Mario Gaona Lara,1964 - 2022 aged 58, passed away May 4th, 2022. He was born in Edinburgh, Texas, and moved to Oregon with his parents when he was a child.
He graduated from Central High School and worked for the state of Oregon Department of forestry for the last 32 years. His most recent position was inmate coordinator where he and his team of inmates fought
wildland fires and made sure our beautiful Oregon campsites and trails were ready for us to enjoy year-round. He was a man of God and enjoyed attending church and participating in men's groups and choir. He loved family time, hiking, camping, fishing, dancing, riding his motorcycle, and his plants, especially his
peppers. Mario will be remembered for his beautiful smile, giving heart, and unconditional love for his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Panfilo Lara and Maria de la Luz Gaona He is survived by his children Jesse M Lara, Alicia N Lara, and John P Viaene. Siblings Jorge, Juan, Rosa, and Jose Lara. Fiancé Araceli Duarte and grandchildren Juniper; Jesse, Jazmynne, Izaiah, Aliyah, Dacoda Thomas, Elijah, Izael, Tyson, Zaniyah, Zavian and Laylah. Great Grandchildren Ezequiel Jr. and Zara.
