Margaret Louise Snow

Margaret Swaim Brents Snow, 93, longtime Independence resident, died June 12.

She was born to Willard and Allie Mills Swaim in Sand Springs, Okla.

She was married to Logan Brents for 48 years and they had five children - Robert (deceased), Julie Bogue, Johnnie (deceased), Larry (deceased) and Nancy Greer - and had adopted a grandchild, Camy (deceased).

Logan and Margaret were the first janitors at Central High School and she worked there from 1950 to 1975. Margaret was proud that all of her children had graduated from Central High School.

Margaret also raised two stepdaughters, Margaret Merrick and Helen Brents Gray (deceased). They fondly referred to her as "Mother Margaret."

She had many grandchildren and three preceded her in death, Ronald Bogue, Eric Brents and Jason Miller. Her great-grandchildren enjoyed her so much and enjoyed many adventures with her.

Margaret eloped on her 65th birthday and married William `Bill' Snow, they had 10 fun-filled years together.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Buena Vista Cemetery.
