Loretta Dorthea Phillips, 90, a resident of Dallas, passed away at her home on March 19, 2011.
She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on June 16, 1920, to Michael and Carrie (Johnson) Finnegan, Loretta grew up in Minnesota, and moved to Oregon 61 years ago, living in Willamina, Salem, and Dallas.
Loretta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Dallas, a member of the Good Sam club, whom she liked going on campouts with. She was very crafty, very artistically talented, great seamstress. She loved her kids, and her foster kids, she was a mom to everybody.
She is survived by her children Joyce Huddleston of Eugene, Royal Hilliard of Independence, Michael Hilliard of Salem, Lennece Hoyt of Dallas; sister Lorraine Shelquist of Minnesota, 16 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday March 24 at 12:00, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas. A private cremation was held at Farnstrom Cremation Center, with Farnstrom Mortuary in care of arrangements.
