Lloyd P. Sheldon of Monmouth, Oregon passed away July 1st at the age of 80. Lloyd was born in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and raised in Salem and graduating from North Salem High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Lloyd attended Oregon State University and finished at a private school in Salem. Moved to Sweet Home in 1958 and retired from his first job some 40 years later. He was a hard worker for the Kiwanis, Elks, Chamber of Commerce which he was president of in 1964. He liked to wood work, doing projects with friends and he liked to be with people. Loved traveling with his airstream group.
Survivors include his wife Peggy J. Sheldon of Monmouth, Daughter GayLynn Pack of Monmouth. His son Jeffery P. Sheldon preceded him in death.
Memorial Service will be held at a later day this month at the Sweet Home Church of Christ.
Contributions can be made to Willamette Valley Hospice in care of Farnstrom Mortuary 410 Monmouth St. Independence, Oregon 97351 who is entrusted to funeral & cremation arrangements.
