Born May 18, 1955, The Dalles, Oregon, Grew up in Seattle, WA. Lived in Bakersfield, CA since 1986 until his time of death Taught grade school in Bakersfield, CA since 1986. Married wife Shirley on June 25, 1988. Served in the US Army from 1975 to 1981, Honorable Discharge. Les education: Associate of Applied Science, Photography, Spokane Falls Community College 1982, Associate Arts, Education, Highline Community College, 1984, Bachelor Arts, Education, Central Wash Univ, 1986, Master Arts, Education, Calif State Univ Bakersfield, 1994. Many hobbies and activities included scuba diving, white water rafting, boating, fishing, family camping, and numerous carving and craft projects. Survived by wife Shirley, daughter Cassandra, son Michael, mother Sharon, brothers Bob, David and Jerome, sisters Mary Ann and Jo Ann, and many other family members, friends and students who love and will dearly miss him. Les loved life, was especially devoted to his wife and children, and was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bakersfield, CA. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday Feb. 24th at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Vault Internment with military honors will be held at English Cemetery in Monmouth following the chapel service.
