Leonard David Humphreys of Independence, Oregon passed away November 9, 2010 at his home at the age of 88.
Leonard enlisted in the United States Navy August 18, 1942 and proudly served his country until he was Honorable Discharge on December 22, 1945. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Salem.
Leonard was a member of the Sons of Norway and Christ Church in Monmouth. He enjoyed Fishing, Basketball and Baseball. Had many international friends, having hosted over 100 international students.
Survivors include his wife Lillian Pauline Humphreys of Independence, Daughter; Susan Kristine Humphreys of Independence and Sons; Michael David Humphreys of Beaverton, John Andrew Humphreys of Bend and James Douglas Humphreys of Tacoma. 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be 3:00pm Sunday November 14th at the Christ Church in Monmouth with a committal service on Monday 1:30pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
In lieu of flowers family suggestion donations to be made to the Ella Curran Food Bank or Heifer International Project in care of Farnstrom Mortuary 410 Monmouth St. Independence, Oregon 97351.
