Leon Junior Martin of Falls City, Oregon died June 20, 2005 at his home in Falls City he was 81 years old. Leon was born May 29, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Delbert and Jimmie Fipps Martin. Leon served in the Navy during WWII on the ship USS Block Island CVE21 which was sunk during WWII combat and the first and only navy ship lost in the Atlantic. The majority of the crew were picked up and taken to Casa Blanca. After serving in the service he married Mary Sauve and had 3 children. Lived in Grants Pass, Oregon and worked as a plywood inspector for 20+ years until retiring in Grants Pass. In 1990 he and his wife came to live with his daughter in the Falls City area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and masonry. Survivors: Mary E.
