Lance “Lanny” HeideSeptember 11, 1956 - October 22, 2018Lance Theodore Heide of Monmouth, Oregon, passed away on October 22, 2018 at the age of 62. Lance was born in Dallas, Oregon to Laverne and Patricia Heide on September 11, 1956. He graduated from Central High School in 1974. He married his wife, Carla on Feb. 23, 1980. The lived in West Salem for 36 years, and had recently moved home to Monmouth. He began his construction/carpentry work in his 20s, and eventually began work for Dallas Glass. Being one of the first employees, he watched the company grow, and remained with them until illness called for early retirement. He was with Dallas Glass for 25 years.Lanny was an avid sportsman. He loved to fish and hunt. Fishing, especially, was what he liked to do the most. There was always a friend or brother he could fish and socialize with! Lanny was a loyal friend to many and loved to share his catch with friends, family and neighbors. He also liked basketball, football and baseball. In addition to playing youth sports himself, he also coached numerous youth teams. From T-ball to senior leagues to JBO, Lanny delighted in coaching all ages! Coaching, watching live competition or games on TV, Lanny enjoyed all sports.Family was extremely important to Lanny. From supporting his children’s activities, to hanging out with his brothers, to family get-togethers, Lanny delighted in it all! He is survived by his wife, Carla; five children: Jeremy (Heidi), Jaclyn (Wes), Elijah (Chelsea), Mariah and JJ; six grandchildren; and his brothers, Jamie, Rory, Tony and Tracy. He’s also survived by his mother, Patricia, and was preceded in death by his father, Laverne (Buddy).A Celebration of Life will be held at Lanny’s home, 636 Martin Way S, Monmouth on November 3, anytime between 12 - 4 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice, 1015 3rd St NW, Salem, OR 97304. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all family and friends who supported Lanny and his family in his final days, and to Hospice for their compassion and support.Farnstrom Mortuary is caring for the family.
