JEAN STRYKER
May 26, 1947 - August 19, 2021

Jean has left all her earthly friends and family to join heavenly friends and family.

Born in Salem, the Stryker family helped develop the small charming town of Independence along with the building of Stryker Road so everyone could access the airport and University. She is a graduate of Lebanon High School.

Jean was a stellar branch manager in Albany for Adult and Family Service Division, Department of Human Services. She then was promoted to manager of the Child Support Division in the Salem State Office. Her work record was exemplary and there was no problem, issue or law that she couldn't handle.

After retiring from the Department, she jumped into retirement fun. She joined the Red Hat Ladies... yes, in splendid hats with purses to match and was an original member of the Ladies Retirement Group from the Department.

She added humor to everyone's lives along with serious commentary on social issues. She was a cornerstone to those who knew her. Her laughter still rings in our heads. She was a good person with a classy style. She died peacefully at home attended by her sister, Jan, and hospice. Jean will be cremated per her wishes. Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence, is in charge.

Jean is survived by her sister, Jan, and many cousins along with many friends. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no service at this time. There will be a gathering at a later date.
