Kimberly JoAnn Claiborne passed away in Spokane, Washington on April 9 after a brave struggle with cancer. Kimberly was born on August 26, 1980 in Corvallis, Oregon to Robert Marrs and June Gibson.
Kim attended EE Smith in Fayetteville, NC, and graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 1998. She earned her EMT license in Savannah, GA. Her dream was to become a nurse.
Kim loved dancing, especially West Coast Swing, and hoped to be able to dance again. She had a kind heart and cared for others. She was always willing to help those most down and out, and she loved her animals.
Kim is survived by Andres Guzman, her partner of 10 years; her son Austin Claiborne of CA; mother June Gibson of Monmouth, OR; father Robert Marrs of Tampa, FL; brother Michael Barefoot of OR; brother Daniel Barefoot of NC; sister Brittnay Marrs of FL; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Kim's life is planned for this summer. Farnstrom Mortuary is caring for the family.
