Kenneth Wayne Phelps passed away in Independence Oregon on Thursday, May 3, 2018.He was born on July 10, 1950 in Klamath Falls, OR to Floyd Lyle and Ruby Delilah Phelps. Kenny grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from Henley High School. He met and married Penney Marie Parker and became a father to his son Travis and step son Eric Devenport. He later met his soul mate Cynthia Lee Rieger and moved to Independence Oregon becoming a devoted step father to Cindy’s daughters and their families.Kenny loved to ride his Harley Davidson with Cindy and spend time with family and friends. In early adulthood, Kenny became a log truck driver and then continued to drive truck throughout Oregon his entire career. Kenny had proudly returned to driving a log truck two and a half years ago for Siletz Trucking Company in Independence, OR. Kenny is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. He leaves behind his soul mate Cynthia Lee Rieger; son and daughter-in law, Travis Wayne and Misty Dawn Phelps; grandchildren, Holly Jane and Travis Wayne Phelps Jr. of Klamath Falls, OR.; step son and daughter-in-law, Eric Joseph and Leanna Marie Devenport; grandchildren Paige Marie, Emily Dawn and Lindsay Jo Devenport of Albany, OR.; step daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Marie and Eric Franklin Beasly; grandchildren, Sophia Kathryn, Zachary Franklin, Eli Gordon, Bradley Garvin, and Liam Eric Beasly of Independence, OR.; step daughter Kayla Aileen Hernandez; grandchild, Eliana Elaine Hernandez of Newberg, OR.; step daughter and son-in-law Courtney Ann and Michael James Preber; grandchildren, James Arnold, Hope Claire, and Quinn Vernette Preber of Grants Pass, OR.; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Susan Phelps of Keno, OR.; and sister, Sandra Tarr of Oakridge, TN.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and family. In addition, Kenny leaves behind his lifelong friend John Parker of Klamath Falls, OR. and a brotherhood community of truck drivers across the state. “The best path through life is the open road.”Kenny’s celebration of life will be at Farnstrom Mortuaries, 410 Monmouth Street, Independence, OR at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
