Independence - June Kathleen Wison passed away in her Independence home on April 14, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born in Devonshire, England and immigrated to the US in July 20, 1931. She grew up in New York City and lived in Arizona, Iowa, California and finally settled in Independence, Oregon in 1975.
June is preceded in death by her husband George L. Wilson and son Christopher R. Wilson. Surviving family members include brother Joey Wood of Monmouth; daughter Charlene Sakariason of Independence; daughter Michelle Harris of California; son Edward (Bonnie) Harris of California. Six grandchildren: Cheryl Harbison of Independence; Chris (Jessica) Gayle of California; Laura (Jan) Sjoerd of Holland; Christina Simonson of California; Julie (Jeff) Brandon of California; and Tasha Harris of California. Three great-grandchildren Christian, Elijah and Selah, and extended family in Ireland and England.
June loved flowers, roses and bulbs, gardening and her fruit trees. She had a soft spot for animals, especially cats, and one special dog named Daisy, who was always with her. She loved the Oregon Coast, and Lincoln City was her favorite place to vacation. She loved black and white moves and was a huge Bruce Willis fan. She loved Frank Sinatra and was a fan of the Big Band Era. She also liked country music and was a fan of Alan Jackson and Alabama.
