Jose Manuel Escoto-Ojeda was born in Salamanca, Guanajuato Mexico on December 22, 1954 and died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on his birthday December 22, 2010. Dad had been courageously battling colon cancer for a little over a year. He never complained about his illness, he was optimistic and never lost his faith in God.
Dad was a mechanic/prefabricator who would never stop working and continue his work at home by beautifying his home the best he could and trying to rebuild his prized truck. He was a man of many projects and skills. To his family he was a superman, a man of many talents and professions, a man who was attacked with kryptonite. However with great bravery and love fought this villous disease with all his might and all the courage until the end.
Above all he was a great father, husband, friend, neighbor, and hero for this family and those who knew him. He was a man who fought for his family, who fought to live a little longer to be with his family and to give what he could. He was a man who loved and who will remain loved and remembered.
He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Dulce, sons Jose jr. & Martin, four siblings, nieces/nephews, and family.
Funeral services will be held on December 27, 2010 at ll:00am at St. Patrick's Church followed by the burial at Hilltop cemetery.
