DALLAS - Joline LeBaron passed away peacefully on Saturday with family by her side. Most recently residing in Dallas, Joline was born and raised in Jefferson, Iowa to Charles, a Mayflower descendant, and Iva (Page) Elliott. She was always the baby of the family. Joline graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942, and married Merle Cairns the next year. They had two sons. Merle died in 1991. Joline moved to California in 1969 and married Roy LeBaron of Santa Rosa in 1970. They lived in Fremont, Oakland, Lucerne, and Lakeport, California, residing in Lake County for nearly 30 years. Roy died in 1997. In 2008, Joline moved to Oregon to live near her son and his family. She was a hard worker her whole life, raising her two sons with clerical work in the real estate and insurance industries. Joline was always a fighter, surviving three types of cancer as well as heart surgery.
Joline was preceded in death by her brother Charles Elliott and her sisters Elizabeth (Elliott) Rice and Florence (Elliott) Brunner. She is survived by her sons Christopher Cairns of Lakeport and Michael Cairns of Independence, her daughter Gail Oberst, grandchildren Bootsie (Cairns) Grakal of Los Angeles, Emmylou (Cairns) Boyle of Tualatin, and John Oberst Cairns of Independence, her great-grandchildren Luke Grakal and Ally Boyle, as well as her special niece Marilyn (Brunner) Egan of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She received loving care from staff at both Heron Pointe Assisted Living in Monmouth and the Dallas Retirement Village Memory Care Center in Dallas.
Joline loved travel, knitting, reading, and having fun. But most of all she loved her family, and she will be greatly missed as she goes to join her parents, sisters and brother. We love you Mom.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Farnstrom Mortuary. Donations in Joline's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
