John Harold Schroeder

John H. Schroeder 01/31/1930 - 06/15/2008 INDEPENDENCE - John H Schroeder, 78, passed away on June 15, 2008 in Independence. He was born January 31, 1930 in Spreckles, Calif. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1948. John was a self employed masonry contractor. John is survived by wife, Judy Schroeder; daughters, Pam Sommer and Chris Kempton of Salem; sons, John Jr. of Bend, Jeff, and Jim of Salem, and Jerome of Monmouth; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, James of Apple Valley, Calif.; and sister, Grace Hayward of Salem. The public is invited to a Celebration of Life which will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., June 24, 2008 at the Independence Riverview Park in Independence. Questions regarding services can be directed to 503-838-1414. Private burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society in care of Farnstrom Mortuary.
