Jacqueline "Jackie" Hernandez Romero, 18, of Independence passed away in a tragic accident at the corner of Stinson Street and Stryker Road in Independence on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Her brother was transported to Doernbecker Children's Hospital in critical condition and is now home but still recovering.
Jackie was a Central High School graduate, the first in her family to graduate, and a scholarship student at Chemeketa Community College.
A donation account has been established in her name at Sterling Bank, becoming Umpqua Bank, to help her family with medical and funeral expenses. The account number is 787 999 5640. The account was suggested by friends of the family in the Independence Airpark Community as a way for those who wish to donate either directly or anonymously to assist this very deserving, hardworking family.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, April 22, from 10 am to 7 pm at Farnstrom Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 23, 2 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Please share your memories and condolences at www.FarnstromMortuary.com .
