Helen M. Bauman

Helen Bauman December 27, 1909 ~ December 17, 2004 Helen Bauman of Monmouth, Oregon died December 17, 2004 at the Dallas Retirement Village in Dallas, Oregon she was 94 years old. Helen was born December 27, 1909 in Blue Island, Illinois. Her early years were spent moving fairly frequently in the Midwest due to her father's work as a carpenter involved in bridge construction. As she was somewhat shy, she longed for a permanent home probably more than any other thing. When she was approximately 16 years old, her parents moved to Harvey, Illinois. She made a decision to stay, the next time her family moved, and she continued to live there for the majority of her remaining years, moving only to a nearby community, Thornton, Illinois in 1970. She married John Bauman in Crown Point, Indiana in 1928. Helen had three children, Patricia, Gerald and Nancy. She is survived by her son Gerald of Monmouth, Oregon. When her husband John died in November of 2001 she joined her son Gerald and daughter in law, Sue in Monmouth, Oregon where she has remained until the last few weeks of her life which were spent in Dallas Retirement Center in Dallas, Oregon. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Harvey and later the United Methodist Church of Thornton, Illinois. At Helen's request no services will be held.
