MONMOUTH - Hazel Darlene Johnson of Monmouth passed away at the age of 86 in Salem OR.
Hazel was born to Hal and Marie Clary in October of 1928 in Highland Kansas.
She was known by her middle name of Darlene, which she thought was a prettier name than Hazel.
Darlene met Warren C Johnson in Independence OR when they were both very young as neighbors. Years later after Warren went into the Air Force, Darlene and her father moved back to Kansas. While Warren was on leave in 1944 he went to Kansas and they were married. They later moved back to Oregon in the late 1940's settling in Monmouth where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping and sharing her faith in God with others.
Darlene is survived by daughter, Patricia Arreola of Salem, OR, Warren C Johnson JR of Salem, OR, sister Betty Ballant of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, daughter Theresa Reyes, 3 grandchildren, parents, brother Robert Clary and sister Elsie Benitz.
